Steve Foster founded TherapySouth in July 2006 with a vision to create a therapist-owned practice focused on “hands-on care, close to a patient’s home or work.” His commitment to personalized, community-based physical therapy has guided the company’s continued growth and success across the Southeast.
Steve earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1980. With over 40 years of experience in outpatient physical therapy, he is also a licensed athletic trainer. His clinical interests include orthopedic and sports therapy, and he remains actively engaged in advancing the profession through leadership and advocacy.
Steve is a long-standing member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), including the Private Practice Section and the Governmental Affairs Committee.
Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife, Jana, and their four children: Katelyn (Guy), Natalie (Baylor), Abby, and Kevin. He is an active member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church and enjoys reading, fishing, skiing, and playing tennis.
