Laura Porter, PT, DPT

Staff Physical Therapist

Laura Porter earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Samford University, her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a Certified Dry Needling Practitioner and has been an outpatient physical therapist since 2015. Her clinical interests include manual therapy, community health and wellness promotion, industrial rehabilitation, and treatment of shoulder injuries.

Laura and her husband, Wes, have three children – Sawyer, Maggie, and Brooks – and are members of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. She is passionate about physical health and wellness and enjoys running and working out. Laura loves being a physical therapist because it allows her to build personal connections with her patients while helping them improve their quality of life. She finds joy in encouraging patients toward decreased pain and improved function, and values the mutual impact these relationships have on her own life.
