Derek and his wife, Libby, have two sons named Thomas and Max. In his free time, Derek enjoys being outdoors and playing sports, such as Ultimate Frisbee, disc golf, running, biking, kayaking, and hockey.
“I became a physical therapist to combine my interest in biology and anatomy and my passion for living an active lifestyle with my desire to help others. It is very rewarding to see people progress, whether it is somebody who has dealt with pain chronically who is now able to sleep through the night and not deal with constant pain, or somebody who has had to undergo orthopedic surgery and has returned to playing sports. I like to learn what is important to patients and implement a combination of hands on treatment and exercise to achieve their goals.”
