Armin Hornikel earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Nova Southeastern University in 2012 and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016. He completed an EIM Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist Residency in 2019, is a Certified Dry Needling Practitioner, and became a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2020. Armin has been working as an outpatient physical therapist since 2016, with clinical interests including manual therapy for a variety of conditions, chronic pain management, pain science, and returning athletes to their full potential.
A Tuscaloosa native, Armin enjoys spending time with his family, training for triathlons, swimming, exploring Alabama, trying new recipes, and traveling to visit friends. “My passion in physical therapy is managing acute conditions to prevent progression to chronicity. Early intervention reduces disability, symptom longevity, and healthcare costs. I enjoy helping individuals of all ages return to their favorite activities, no matter how small or large the task.”
