Alex Whalen earned her Associate’s Degree in Biology from Southern Union Community College, her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Jacksonville State University, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has completed Herman & Wallace Level 1 training as well as multiple Maitland courses, including Maitland 1, Maitland Upper and Lower Quarter, and the Maitland 2 Essential Spinal Seminar. She is also trained in dry needling.
Alex’s clinical focus centers on helping patients achieve their goals through individualized, patient-centered care. Her approach is strongly shaped by her own experience as both a physical therapy patient and a physical therapy technician, giving her a deep appreciation for the impact thoughtful, hands-on care can have on recovery and confidence.
Outside of the clinic, Alex enjoys teaching dance, working out, playing with her dog, and spending time with family and friends. A Pell City native, she is passionate about giving back to the community that supported her throughout her journey and is dedicated to serving others through physical therapy.
